Sunset Corn Harvest

Wisconsin farm fields become a fleury of activity as soon as summer winds down and the leaves start to change. It is harvest season and there are only a few short weeks to get all the crops out of the fields and off to market. Farmers work long days in the fields often into the darkness of night cutting crops in a fiery of dust.

“Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil and you’re a thousand miles from the corn field.”

Dwight D. Eisenhower

“My grandfather used to say that once in your life you need a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman and a preacher, but everyday, three times a day you need a farmer.”

Brenda Schoepp, farmer

“Wisconsin is one of the top corn producing states in the nation. More than 15,000 farmers grow “grain” corn on approximately three million acres.”
